Hello Western Families!

My name is Mr. Desmarais, and I am so excited to be a part of this amazing district. I grew up in the Jackson area and love everything about this community. 

I have 2 children, Brennan and Maddy, and we have an adorable golden-doodle named Champ.  I have been in education for many years, 12 as a high school English teacher and now more than 5 years as an elementary principal. My wife is also a teacher.

I went to college at Ferris State University, and love all things University of Michigan and Detroit sports teams. Go Red Wings, Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Wolverines! I also enjoy traveling with my family, grilling, growing vegetables in our garden and drinking coffee.
